Hi ClamZawr,
Welcome to the forum.
You have lots of information at your fingertips and if you have any doubt, ask questions. Lots of people here ready to help.
Now that you have your goals, you have to commit to how you are going to achieve those goals. If you want to lose the weight by the time you get to college, you also have to look beyond and make sure you figure out how your going to keep that weight off after. Hate to see you gain it all back before you graduate!
Calorie reduction is a must...you have cut back about 500 calories a day if you want to lose a pound a week. Eating healthier is another must. I found if you give the food you eat some thought before you eat, you will make a healthier choice. Cut out the high calorie junk and processed foods and it doesnt take much else to find 500 calories to cut from your diet.
Also, balanced meals are a must....protein, fiber, carbs and good fats. It all helps.
Exercise isn't necessary to lose weight, but if you make it part of the program, it will be a big benefit.
Lastly, I recommend water. Lots of it.
Good luck....and keep us posted how you are making out!
