Hey Hey Hey! :D

I am kind of new to forumposting, but i wanna give this a try. So i guess since posting in the newcommers section i start with introducing myself ^_^
I am a woman, living in Westren Europe (and used to measure in Kg and not in lbs :D, but i'll post both since i see many posting in pounds),

i recently turned 24 years young :D, and around 1,72 meter (5'64" <not sure if i got this right :$) , and currently weighing 84,3Kg (185,84lbs)

around my 18-20y, i was +100Kg (220lbs), last time i got to stand on the weighing scale in that time i was 103kg (227lbs) and i am sure i was even more. When i was 20y i decided i had to do something, but took it all wrong and took dietpills. around 20-21y , i reached 94Kg (207lbs). But not without consequences, my body felt week, i became very pale, got serious headaches all the time, and had alot of moodproblems. So i stopped the pills and decided i should let my body recover because i took it all wrong, this took almost 1 year and half. i could eat whatever i wanted and didnt gain. When i was +/- 23y i think i got over this, my body was "recovered" and the food i ate made me gain again, and i got to 98kg. (216lbs).
Weigh to overweight, and cuz of feeling so bad for all this years, i became someone who was very on her own, and had hard time being around people, due to being very insecure and feeling bad with myself, what also affected people around me.

So +/- 8 months ago i decided to make some work loosing weight again, but this time in more healthy way, aka eating healthy and exercising ^_^
Normally, i go fitness 2 to 3 times a week. i warm up on the treadmill or the bike for around 10-15 minutes. then i go do muscle exercising, one day the arms and shoulders, other day core and legs, and etc.. to finish with 15-20 minutes stepping.
and i try to keep to 1500 Kcal (some days its less, on bad days (1 day every few weeks :$) its little more, but never over 1700 0_0), spread out in 5 meals during the day. I drink water, and since I really love coffee i do keep 1 coffe a day, since i can't live without! :D

Atm I am in my final exams, and its hard going to the Gymm, since its not really nearby. So i changed it to min. 3 times/week workout. These work outs are like.. +/- 10 minutes variation of cardio exercises (jogging, jumping jacks, high knees, and etc...) then some other exercises (crunches, push ups, legs exercises, lowerback exercisis, and etc...). good for 30min-45min work out.
Days i am really to busy studying, i take my book and try to do around 2000-2500 steps on the mini stepper.

But since last 3,5 months, I had some trouble loosing weight. i get down to 83,5kg (184.08 lbs), to then gain again to 86kg, max 87kg (191.79)
It goes really slow on, and i can loose it pretty fast again. but the everytime i get down at 83Kg again, i gain more. eventho i keep to the diet/exercising.

So i was wondering, if anyone could give me advice, please?
Since its been like this for some months, its kinda demotivating. >.<
Sorry, its so long! :$

My final goal would be: 68 Kg (149.91lbs)

Hi Bri_Tty there is no magic formula to losing or gaining weight.

From what I understand there are 2 ways to gain weight.

1. Eat more calories than you use
2. Don't drink enough water in which case your body stores water which adds to your weight

During those periods when you're putting weight on keep a food diary. For years I was fooled into this whole idea that I don't overeat until I started adding up every chocolate, every biscuit, every drink and realised that the majority of the time I wasn't exceeding my food intake but on the days I did I could easily exceed my calorie intake my 2000-3000.

Instead of waiting to go to the gym try and do a little bit of activity each day - only need be 30 mins (a jog, brisk walk etc).

Heey! thank you very much for your reply! :)

And Thank you for your advice! I am already keeping a food dairy tho :), i did so from the start. it makes it all a bit easier. And as i said i try to keep it at 1500 Kcal. spread out over the day.

the only desert i ate was a piece of cake on my b-day, on my boyfriends b-day and on our anniversary.
I just drink water, coffee, rarely some green tea with no added sugar.
Tho i dont reach 2L of water every day, mostly just 1,5. so maybe i can find the answer there.

As for the working out. maybe my post was not clear ^_^ i do try to do some working out at home, not every day. ^_^ and not just waiting to go to the gym :D

I'll try give an example:
yesterday troughout all day i came at 1489,5 calories i ate.
And spended 3 hours in the sun, mowing the grass that was standing way to high,
walking back and forth to empty the the thing that catches up the cutted grass.
this morning i checked my weight, (before having breakfast) and i gained weight.

Hi, welcome, I'm not sure the sun helps a lot :p You shouldn't be worried about some weight gains, it fluctuates a lot from what I noticed ( experienced members may vouch me or not )
By the way, how do you count the amount of calories you eat?

Hahaha, I was just meaning it was hot xD

I followed a cooking class some years ago here, where we learned to count the calories for each meal.
We used a table that lists different foodproducts (also with some known brands) and ways of preparing (f.e. cooked, baked,...)
its compiled by a dutch organisation and gets updated every few years.
At start it took much time, but things i eat more regular, are now +/- standard knowledge.

Welcome to the forum.

Well done for your weight loss so far. You have done very well.

I find it easiest to use a free account from www.fitday.com to count calories... I find it much easier than individually looking up values in a book. It also helps you to count other things like sodium levels which can cause you to gain weight due to water retention.

Do you weigh all the food that you eat or use scoops, spoons and average values? It is very easy to calculate the wrong value and this can mean that you are eating more calories than you think.

If each of your meals were 100 calories wrong that would make a difference of 500 calories.

I have to ask why you are eating 5 meals a day? This may be the pattern that is normal for you - and if it is that is ok... Alternatively - it may be because you have heard that it helps you to lose weight if you do this. Eating lots of small meals is a diet myth - and it has been proven that it is total calories that counts and there is no benefit to eating lots of small meals every day.

I suggest that you read the following thread - it may help you settle in and make friends

Good luck with your project.
