Hey, don't worry about the lack of weight loss. What's happening is that you are losing fat, but replacing it with muscle. And muscle weighs more than fat. I play volleyball, and when "training" started for my club team, I didn't lose ANY weight... at least, not right away, but i lost and 1 1/2 in off my thighs, a half inch off my upper arms, and so on. So just keep up the work, and you should see results soon.

As for whether you're diet and workout are ok, i don't really know, but i think they are, you'll just have to wait for a few more replies from people more educated than I am. :)

Hi, shanthijpr. Welcome to our little slice of heaven :)

I'm impressed by your exercise routine, but I don't think you are eating enough food. If you eat too few calories to support your body and the work you are asking it to do, your metabolism will slow down and your weight loss will be VERY slow.

To avoid that, first, eat breakfast! Your body has been "fasting" all night and will continue to conserve (and horde) calories until it gets its first fuel for the day. Make healthy choices like a high-fiber cereal with milk and fruit, yogurt and fruit with added wheat germ and/or flax for fiber, or an egg white omlet with lots of veggies.

Also, there's some evidence that your evening meal should have fewer carbs because you are getting ready to sleep and won't have a chance to burn them off before you sleep.

In general, aim for about 1200 calories a day, mostly from fresh fruit, veggies, whole grains and low-fat dairy.

And, as Xorie says, muscle DOES weight more than fat, and your exercise routine will help you build muscle fast, so measure all over--neck, chest, stomach, hips, upper arms, thighs, calves--and check the measurments often so you can see your true progress.

Good luck!

I also agree that you are not eating enough. I know you said for lunch you have curry (I think there is meat in curry?? I'm no food expert  ) but I'd definitely try incorporating more protein into your evening meal instead of just carbs. I agree with the previously stated that breakfast is important! It gets your metabolism started for the day. Eat it!! :)

I used to be the worst coffee drinker ever...2-4 cups of black coffee a day and I thought I was feeling great until I realized my body was thriving off of it. I cut out all caffeine from my diet...with an exception here or there...and I have come to realize that I now have more energy than I ever did as a coffee drinker.

But all in all, welcome here! I'm sure you'll find this place to be very supportive and friendly. Looking forward to seeing you around.

I can't really say much more as you've already had some great advice but I thought I'd pop in to add my welcome too. The only other thing I can think of is to keep drinking the water! Your exercise routine looks very good, it's certainly more than what I do at the gym.:)

These gals have such great advice! They are all right...you are not eating enough and this makes your body think you are starving it...making your metabolism SLOW DOWN, plus you will not eat like that forever and eventually you will want to eat again and that will just lead to weight gain all over again! To avoid that just adjust your diet, eat breakfast, add more protien and less refined carbs to your meals. It's better to make changes that you can live forever with than short term ones that will only sabatoge you later on...trust me...I have learned the hard way...and this time I am going to do it right! The exercies looks awesome...I wish I had the time!

hey thankyuuu
