you see I have a problem. I know what to do in order to lose weight, Ive studied and worked on it, but my major problem is that I dont. I really what to but there is just somthing that holds me back. It is so frustraiting. I go to the gym and i work out hard swim for a half hour and jog for a mile and lift. I do all of that and i feel good, but as soon as I eat somthing wrong just once, it blows my diet off. i dont now why. I guess i get discouraged easly. It all comes down to my eating i try so hard, its like i cant control it. Does any one have suggestions that they can give me?

Hey there, and welcome to WLF. If you need some help keeping motivated through the difficult times, I would suggest starting a diary/journal here on the site. It lets us give each other feedback and support during the good and the bad. Keep in mind that one little thing doesn't blow the big picture out of the water.. you just have to get back from it, plus, goodies in moderation are okay!

If you are having troubles with the food portion of weight loss, I would suggest getting a fitday.com account. I have one of my own and it helps me a lot! It lets you see that you can still eat goodies and be well within your goals for the day, so maybe you wouldn't get so discouraged if you could lay out a larger picture rather than just looking at one little mess up and throwing in the towel.

Good job on having a work out plan to start with! That's always great.. plus you already have a ticker going with some goals. Next step is to snoop around the forums, read the stickies, and start a journal. Good luck with your weight loss and if you have any question/comments/concerns, send me a message and if I can't answer them, I'll point you to someone who can!

Hey there and welcome to the forum.

My name's Sheryl and I'm just some hot broad who goes around welcoming new members and harassing others. HA! jk I can totally relate about doing well, then suddenly dropping off the wagon. Been there. Done that. (Throughout my entire life really.. that is until now. :))

Personally speaking, you really need to get into the whole mindset of wanting to lose weight for specific reasons in which you deem important. (ie: Wanting to lower your cholesterol, decreasing your risk of a heart attack, or hell, maybe wanting to look hot topless on the beach... aka goals) I'm a huge fan of visual cues, so what I do is I write down my goals and post it somewhere out in the open for me to read when I feel like I need an extra boost of motivation. (On the fridge, on the wall where you workout, next to the toilet... not saying I do, but hey, why not, right? HA!) You can even post pictures of yourself where you consider yourself to be the heaviest and say outloud, "I'm tired of looking like this and it's time for a change." It may sound a bit weird, but I assure you, it helps. Good luck with your weight loss. :D

Welcome to the forums!

The support, motivation and inspiration on the boards has helped me, as I think it can help you too.

Personally, what has helped me is see this as a lifestyle change for a healthier me. It is coming off slowly, and I'm ok with that. I would rather have PERMANENT results instead of IMMEDIATE ones. In addition, a big things to remember is dont use ONE mistake as an excuse to make bad choices for the rest of the day, or worse, the rest of the week.

Journaling, and particpating in the challenges will help give ya motivation!

Good luck!
