Hypocycloidal Trainer Vs. Elliptical Trainer

Hey Guys,
If any of you have been following my diary you will see that i am trying to do my workouts using the "elliptical" trainer in my parents house. I call it an elliptical, but really it is something called a Hypocycoidal Trainer made by Symmetry (HC 810 Hypocycloidal Trainer). I find it to be very similar to the elliptical but i actually like it more than just the normal elliptical trainer.

I have read/heard that the hypocycloidal can develop a broader range of muscles and has more motions than the elliptical does (it can put you through the motions much the same as a ski machine, treadmill, elliptical and stair climber)

Does anyone have a more knowledgeable or in depth description of the differences between the two machines? (ie: what muscles are included in the broader range)

Thanks for your help :)

Hello MicheeH!

I don't think the machine you use really matters too much for cardio. The goal for cardio is to get your heart pumping, not work muscles (unless you're training for endurance in a specific event, like running, biking, or swimming). If you want to work muscles for strength, tone, bulk, whatever, try some weightlifting :)

This is all just in my opinion of course. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks Mar1984
Im asking the question basically just because i am curious haha. Not training for anything..yet anyways. I definitely agree that it does much the same as any other machine does for cardio because it sure does get my heart rate up. :)
