I wear a heart rate monitor 24-7. I tray to reset it as near as possible to midnight. If I fall asleep before then I reset it as soon as I wake up during the night. I have notices tha I will often wake up and it will show that I've burned 800+ calories during the night. This is after I have had very vivid dream, which I fequently do (nearly every night). Is this possible or do i need to look for anothe HR monitor

It really depends on your weight/BMI, but I found this article:

If you tend to sleep deeply you'll burn more calories.

But I'm not a doctor/scientist!

Do you sleep walk? I had that problem before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I would get up in the middle of the night and do a bunch of weird ass shit and not remember any of it when I woke up in the morning. And, if I wasn't sleep walking, I was definitely tossing and turning all night. If you're constantly moving around all night, I don't doubt you could burn up to 800 or so calories in a few hours.
