I wanted to introduce myself. Fifteen months ago I was obese and sedentary. I started walking around the block every day, and then built up the mileage over the next year. I entered some 5K's and a 10K, and recently completed my first half marathon. I am very fortunate in that the little town I live in is very hilly, and once I was in good enough shape to walk briskly up those hills, I started jogging up them. That was a real eye-opener for me. Once I moved from hill walking to hill jogging the body changes have been quick. I don't have any problems with motivation. Jogging keeps me happy and sane. I do hope to get motivation from y'all to start work on my upper body. I am a big-boned guy, so I think I could really look good with more pronounced chest and arms. It is just that I really enjoy walking and running, but lifting weights and doing exercises looks painful and boring. Hoping to get motivation from this forum.
