Howdy from Houston

Gosh, I'm actually at a loss for words here! Thought I'd have some semi-witty line to start with and then talk about goals and I'm just glad to be here. But none of those words are coming.

What I do have is a very clear sense that I am at that proverbial crossroads. I'm 48 years old, at the highest weight I've ever been (298-ish), low strength level, low energy level, and no endurance (besides that, Mrs. Lincoln, how'd you like the play?). When I look 10 years out into the future, I "see myself" as trim, fit, full of vigor and enjoying good health. And I think that is a good thing. At the same time, I realize that represents a different road than the one I currently tread. So I need TODAY to make the right choices, the strengthening decisions, that will steer me over to that other road, the preferred road.

So I come here for help. To learn. To encourage. And possibly ultimately to lead others to their own better present and future.

Thanks in advance.

i have relatives in houston and whenever i visit i always gain tons of weight, lol. they love bbq and heck anything else. all they do is eat. i used to feel superior when i was in shape, i wouldnt say anything, but i'd come home and think damn how can they live like that. but u know karma i drank and ate myself to 265 at one point, now i am 246 but still much heavier than the last time out there.

i know nolan i think thats got to be big jrr right? anyways good luck losing the weight partner.

Yep, Houston tends to get ranked as one of the "fattest cities". Eatin' is fun! Perilous for sure.

Best of success to you in your own healthy pursuits. And Yes, that is J.R. Richard by the Alvin Express.
