How often do you weigh yourself?

I am thinking of going out and buying a scale tomorrow and weighing myself every day. I am thinking that if I can see the numbers every day, it will keep me on track.
What do you all think of this, and how often do you weigh yourselves?

Pros and Cons to this

Weighing everyday seems great at first, and if you go in with the right mindset, it can really benefit you. Keep in mind that your weight WILL fluctuate during the day, even if it's just by .2 lbs. Knowing how your body reacts to food and exercise by getting on the scale is pretty handy. I'd weigh myself at least 3 times a day just to see the reactions from water consumption, etc.

The bad part is that most people find that it may drive them crazy. They'll work out for hours during the day, and get frustrated because the numbers of their weight aren't moving the way they want. As long as you don't go overboard, it's okay for everyday. I think there's even a club here with that idea.

Good luck with your weight goals ^_^

I weigh myself every day, but I don't get bothered in the slightest by my weight fluctuating.

I have a friend that can't weigh herself more then once a week without going crazy and freaking out by any change other then down.

It's whatever works for you.

As has been stated, proceed with caution. I weigh myself every day, and I post in the "weigh yourself every day" club here in the forums. But I believe I have the right mindset. Actually, I really step on the scale twice a day - once in the morning, and once in the evening. Its sort of amazing to see the scale drop literally 4 lbs overnight - respiration gets rid of a lot of water I guess. Some days, the scale drops a lot from the previous day. Some weeks, I go for 4 days without seeing a drop at all. It doesn't bother me. If I started to see the numbers rising consistently over a week or more, then I start to figure out whats going wrong.

I stopped weighing myself. I realized that it just gets in the way of my success. Numbers are numbers and they can change throughout the course of even a day. So, I don't bother anymore.

I judge my success by how I feel, how my clothes fit and how I look, AKA - if I'm smaller looking. Oh, ok...and if my weiner looks bigger.

I weight myself once a week, every Saturday morning after I get up and use the bathroom. By keeping that constant, I can really gauge whether or not I'm losing.

I weigh myself every morning. That way I know if I'm going too much in the wrong direction and I can change things up before it goes too far.

Used to be daily in the morning. It worked for me.

Now I do it weekly on Saturday mornings.

I weigh myself every morning and actually in the evening as well (more for interest than anything else). It helps keep me motivated and accountable.

I weigh myself every morning and write down my progress. I get a little frustrated when I stop losing or gain weight, but I like checking every day anyway. I've read that you should only weigh yourself once per week, but I haven't followed that advice.

I weigh myself every day.

If you weigh once a week, then you could just happen to weigh yourself on an up day or a down day, and you will go for a whole additional week, maybe more, before finding out how you are really doing.

I do weigh myself every day, but that's mostly because I can't bring myself to keep of the scale. I'm constantly wondering how it's going. But I really try not to get upset by the flucuations and I only count the Friday morning weigh-ins as official.

The really frustrating times are when I'll be X on Friday, X-3 pounds on Monday, then X-1 pound the following Friday. GRR!!!

I weigh myself almost every time I walk past my scale. But I've really learned how my weight fluctuates throughout a day, and even throughout a week. I'm always lightest on Thursday nights for some reason, and always heaviest on Monday mornings.
