how much weight is really needed?

ok, got a kinda lame question but it applies to me anyway.
how much weight would i need on each dumbell to gain at a decent rate?
at the moment im using dumbells with 15lb on each, but im not seeing too much difference, i do 5x10-15. if anyone could give me advice on this that would be great.

Generally, you need a enough weight so that you are reaching or nearing failure on the last rep of each set.

What exercises are you doing? You probably need a different weight for each exercise. How often are you working out? What are your goals? What are your current stats?

its a different weight for every person. and you should always be 'outgrowing' the current weight...hence why you buy a set of dumbbells or an adjustable system.

thanks, well at the moment im using dumbells solely for bicep curls and ive got the maximum weight on them, so it looks like i might have to buy some new ones with a little bit more weight to them.
my goals are to be defined and still have a nice pair of guns
im weight training all the days that i can at the moment.
cheers people.
