How much water should I drink while exercising?

Hello I am new here. I have been reading a while now and this site has been very motivational. I noticed when I started to exercise on my elliptical the other day I drank a liter of water in the half our I was exercising. I started drinking less water each day while exercising. Today I worked out for one hour and drank 3/4 of a liter and feel better. Is there a certain amount I should be trying to drink? I am drinking 4-6 liters of water each day otherwise.

EDIT: I do drink water when I feel thirsty while working out.

ugh, good question! i know if i drink alot while i'm working out, i feel sick...so I don't drink much at all.....maybe someone will have a good answer for you :)

I remember when I played football in high school if I would drink too much water at one time during practice I would become "water logged" and would get sick while conditioning but this is different. I have a sick stomach ache for a couple hours if I drink too much water while working out.

A really good rule to start with at least eight to 10 glasses of water every day. If you are doning exercise or work out in gym, add one glass of water for every 25- 30 minutes of activity - more if the weather is hot and/or dry. Another tip to make sure that you're well hydrated is to note the color of your urine. If it's not nearly clear, then you're probably not drinking enough water.
Water is very essential for our body, if u dont take water according to the desire of you body then your face will look like dull & also make cause of many other harmful diseases.

weigh yourself before training/working out and again afterwards the difference is the water lost during your workout and the amount that should be replaced. If your drinking throughout your workout at the right level then the difference won't be very much.

this is on top of your normal daily water intake.
