How much is enough?

okay, after reading around, i have found that most ppls opinions are that 800 cal a day is unhealthy, so i am thinkin about maybe 1200 or so, I was just wondering if i could find out about how many everyone on here eats a day, and maybe go along with some of yall. I know i have been having headaches, but now they're getting better. the site said that my body will think its starving itself, but if i stay at 800 for a while...wont my body eventually adjust itself and weight start coming off? I am so confused, let me kno what yall think, thanks~!!!
 
Well, I think its really important to consult a doctor and a nutritionist when starting a diet. That way you can find out what your body needs. Generally the diets I have seen have been in the 1500 calorie a day area, with some wiggle room either way. And if your excersizing its recommended you eat more. Remember, if your starving your body will start storing all the calories you eat as fat which is exactly what you DONT want it to be doing. Drink lots of water also, it helps flush that fat out!
 
I think it also comes down to your metabolisim... if you have a slow one, then it can be a lot harder to shift the weight then if you have a fast one. There are lots of places on the web you can go to find out if you have a slow or fast metabolisim, here is a to an article that might help you as well.

Combined with knowing this information as well as the amount of calories you should eat per day will help you lose weight faster, but safely.
