Topic says it all!

Metabolism - I think my major problem is, mine is really really low.

Now I heard you can eat foods that will speed it up..
Kinda dont want to go that route because, Im trying not to eat so much.

I know this forum you guys sway away from pills of any nature..
Is their a pill that will do this?

Whats the best way to do it?

Is their a way to kick it in to High Gear while I sleep?
Thats prolly when I need it most..

Thanks!

Drink lots of water.

Eat lots of low calorie, high fiber foods (vegetables, beans, etc.)

Exercise.

Avoid excessive and refined carbs.

They say eating more often in smaller portions is a way to boost metabolism.

Most people can't do this.

Most everything I've read, points to less calories, healthier people, living longer, and less health problems.

Thats my 2 cents. I eat a little here and there, and about one good solid meal per day.

awesome..

Any idea if drinking coffee just in the morn. would help any?

I think my main problem is my food intake.. its just.. I eat 2 times a day.. but its alot of stuff...

Caffeine boosts metabolism. However, it is a diuretic and dehydrates you. I'm sure there is little harm in black coffee or with low or zer0 calorie additives, as long as you supplement it with some extra water later in the day.

Speeding Up Your Metabolism

Numero Uno is to EAT BREAKFAST. I don't mean ham & eggs with bisquits and juice.
Your body has been resting throughout the night while you are asleep, and has had no food/fuel intake since you went to bed. An average person sleeps 7 to 8 hours per night, and your body remains in a resting metabolism state, until you give it fuel.
To[/B] increase[/B] your metabolism, you must fuel your body (just like a car can't operate without fuel). The longer you go without food, = the SLOWER your metabolism. It's a proven fact that people who skip breakfast have slower metabolisms that those who eat breakfast.
The Key is WHAT you eat for breakfast. You want to fuel your body with the "good" carbohydrates and protein. Avoid sugars and starches - they don't last & you'll be hungry within hours. Eat whole wheat toast with peanut butter, & a banana; or oat/bran flakes cereal, skim milk, and a cup of coffee.
These choices are Real Fuel. They are nourishing, filling and will get you going and Stay With you.
On the other hand, drinking caffeine (Coffee) in mass, on an empty stomach, is something close to a nightmare to your system. You'll jumpstart your engine, but it's a shaky road and the caffeine boost backfires.
If you add the Right fuel in the morning, your metabolism will be activated to give you energy and a clear head to start your day.
It's True. This IS the Way to Speed up Your Metabolism.
Good Luck & Best Wishes for your success.

From what I have learned, cleansing definetely speeds up the metabolism. If we have a lot of toxins/impurities in our bodies, then our bodies go into fat-storing mode. This is a protective mechanism the body uses to try to keep the toxins in the fat cells and out of the bloodstream/organs. Going through a cleansing and replenishing program will excrete the toxins and therefore your body will ge able to switch to a fat-burning mode.
It's kinda neat, isn't it? So far I have lost 11lbs in 3 1/2 weeks with the cleansing program I am doing.

eat atleast 3 times a day :p
ad not tons at each meal :)
And make sure to eat breakfast! :)

Some book I was reading says that you should start your day with a large glass of COLD water, before doing anything.. and that helps speed up your metabolism (hasn't worked for meq uite yet, but I have a major caffeine addiction to kick... )

oh ya.. green tea and vitamin b complex is suppost to help aswell.

vitamin b complex is also good for women who find themselves with monthly mood swings... it's great for PMS symptoms, if its taken regularly.

Losing a lot of weight will speed up your metabolism, when i was young i was a fat kid, then i dieted and excersised and got skinny. Now when i do the same diet and excersise i did when i was a kid the weight just falls off. I can't really explain it but skinny people have faster metabolism.
