How can i be gaining weight???

So did a little experiment today (yes you will tell me I am an idiot for doing this experiment)

Basically I weighed myself in the morning it said 166.2, ate nothing all day, put nothing in my body, went to the bathroom twice (#1 and #2s), 10hrs later weighed myself again says 168.4. Now unless I have found a way to generate matter instead of transferring it, something fishy is going on.......any thoughts?

That doesn't sound right. Did you have on the same clothes? What did you do all day? Did you eat right before you weighed in and go to sleep right after?

Weighed myself naked like I always do. And did my usual day: walk to work, some desk work, occasoinally got up and walked around, walked back home. I did not eat until after I weighed myself when I got home.

If more dieters understood the first law of thermodynamics the weight loss industry would be ****ed! ;)

You said you didn't consume anything, does that mean you didn't drink either?

I put nothing new in my body from the night before. and I checked the scale with my hand weights, put 20lbs down read 19.9 lbs.

**** knows then, maybe you have crap scales or maybe your floor isn't perfectly even

Why would you want to go a day without water though, seems crazy. Just eat a low calorie healthy diet, train hard and over time you'll lose weight

maybe there's something wrong with your weighing scale...what do you think? But these machines are just there to give us an estimate of figures anyway.

Oh i wanted to see how much my BMR actually takes out of me every day, but apparently it puts stuff back in lol.

Man, you are heading for one big weight related crash when you do start eating- and thats without considering your lack of fluids.

And so you ignored the basic fact that you need to replenish bodily fluids every day. Are you sure your lack of dehydration hasn't caused some eyesight issues? as it would easily do this.

Silly!

i am 19wks 6days today. i was considered "over weight" to start with.
i fluctuate btwn 184 and 189. i have been closer to 186-189 the last 4 times i weighed myself so i am going to assume i have officially gained at least 2 lbs to this point.

i was told i can gain 15 lbs and stay in a safe range. i decided to let my body convert the fat i had in to what it needed so i wouldn't compound my weight with more baby weight.

it's my understanding that your weight can fluxuate (with five pounds being the biggest difference), and that you also weigh less in the morning. I've always read that you should weigh yourself in the morning. Not sure why exactly.

Hi,HatesHisMoobs

It's just your daily weight fluctuations.

Most people will fluctuate up to 5 pounds per day in body weight due to water content, and food you’ve eaten.
