Horizon Fitness - A good brand???

I am looking to get an elliptical machine for under $1,000. A sales guy at Dick's Sporting Goods really tried to sell me the Horizon 3.5 last night. I am a bit skeptical because I don't know much about the Horizon brand name. Does anyone have any advice???

BTW - Also, is Schwinn a good name in ellipticals? I know they are big on the bikes, but I have never seen them elsewhere. I am also looking at their 418 model elliptical...

The Schwinn is a highly rated elliptical. I would rate it a little higher than the Horizon, but they almost feel the same to me. I prefer the rear drive Ellipticals. If you have a Sears by you, try the NordicTrac. I prefer it over either of the two you mention.
