Hope this is a place to start.

I am a 70 year old man recently widowed. I used to be very active in my old job until a few years before I retired. I retired 8 years ago and quit smoking 7 years ago after 40 years addicted. It would be easy to have the excuse that I let myself go because of my primary function was a care giver to the love of my life for 50 years, but I did this to myself. I found that I could no longer do a situp or even a pushup. So I have a long way to go just to become normal. I do have a elliptical and I do try to at least do 5 minutes on it each day when I think of it. So not sure if I can really belong with a group that is so far advanced. Thanks for letting me join. There are some of us here very advanced and others barely mobile, there is no minimum ability policy here so you are as welcome as any.
The thing you will have in common with most of us. You are not happy with your current condition and ability, a quick look around will show that hardly anybody here is, that's what drives us.
