Holy crap! I weigh how much?!!!

Hi, All! I just joined and thought I'd say hello. My hubby is a health care provider and I went up to work with him today, got on the scale (calibrated, so I know it was right) and about died. Right there, staring back at me was a big, fat 268lbs!!!!!:eek: I quietly stepped off the scale and immediately turned it off. I had to be cool and smooth, because I would freak out if my hubby saw how much I weighed. No that I've calmed down a little, I need to do something about it other than stressing over it because last time I checked, freaking out doesn't burn too many calories. Don't get me wrong, I knew I had gained more weight (I was 250 a few weeks ago) and that my clothes weren't fitting anymore, but I never thought that 270 was right around the corner. Anyhow, here I am ready to surrender. Nice to "meet" you all.

I have to tell you - I was just about IN your shoes...standing on the scale and I was almost 260 pounds - there is something so overwhelming and almost debilitating about realizing you have over 100 pounds to lose.

However, just remember, each pound is the same, and they all come off one at a time!

You CAN do this :) Welcome to the WLF, start a journal over in the diary section and get to know people. I look forward to reading about your journey to success!

welcome to the forum. i too have 3 angels and work full time. you are right about not stressing. been there done that and i have the t-shirt and hat..lol. i have not lost any weight by doing it, but have gained because of it. i eat when i am stressed. emotional issues what can i say. any way i suggest getting the weight off one decision at a time. eat a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner and get some snacks in. go to sparkpeople.com they have a recipe bank there. also make these meals for the family. they will never know if you substitute some ingredients. start a diary here or at home. Borders bookstore has some very pretty journals to write in. And yes you must get active. start by doing more around the house or get out and walk or join a gym. you may need to try several methods before you find what works for you. I know that you will reach you goals! you have what it takes. you are a wife and a mother of 3. Girl I know you have to stuff to make it happen.
