Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself because I can see that right away this is a great place to talk to people about what I am going through... already found a few cool people!

Lil' bit about myself... I am 27 years old, male in Philadelphia. I am a H.S. Math teacher and I had a breaking point last September. It isn't like I've been called fat before... I mean, my brother and sister have done it since I got heavy in the 5th grade. That didn't sting much... but when my new incoming freshman class (not all, a few goons who won't be passing this year anyways, not for the name calling, but because they are idiots) called me fat and other such names (i.e. hotdog neck) I decided this isn't going to work. So I joined L.A. Weightloss and the weight started coming off. Around January I got bored with the plan and decided to switch it up to calories in vs. calories out and that has taken off just as much weight as the LA. Weightloss (30 and 30 roughly). I also feel much more satisfied for meals and not as hungry. For anyone who needs motivation, spending 500 bucks at startup is one way of doing it. Seeing myself in 38 pants was the other part.

I also exercise, 4-5 times a week. If I do weights, it is low weight but high reps (toning purposes). I do about 30-40 minutes of cardio as well. It's a great plan for me and I know it needs some fine tuning. I am also borderline obsessive... I mean, it's all I can think about sometimes! Still, I am proud of myself and gearing up to getting in shape for the rest of my life. I keep telling people that I am going to get to about 210 lbs.... but in reality I am going to try for 200 (they say that I've lost too much as is, which I hate hearing).

Here is a link to some pics... it explains my original and current weight situation. You will also see how much of a goon I actually look like :)

Thanks for reading this long drivel!

Hello and welcome, this is a cool site.

Congrats on the losses, both with the program and calorie countung. I now do the calorie thing, used to be a member of weight watchers but the too got boring. I like seeing the actual coloric intake..makes it more realistic then the point system.

Some kids can be jerks, they are probably down on themselves and it makes them feel better picking on another person. During my school years I was the fat kid and the one who got picked on..it was horrible. So meaningless now but during the time it was not so much fun. Just a side note, you can loose weight, they will always be jerks :rotflmao:

Keep up the good work.
