Ever since I started a diet (a month ago) I have been having the hardest time going to the bathroom . I take Fiber Pills and Vitamins but nothing seems too help. Has anyone else had this problem? and what did you do about it?
Sorry if this is not in the right thread...

How much water/fluids are you taking in and how much fiber are you getting from your actual diet - in comparison to what you were gettin before?

How many fiber pills are you taking a day and why are you taking them actually - it's not hard to get enough fiber from your food sources -you really don't need a pill to help yuo along?

Constipation is pretty common among people on low carb diets because they aren't getting enough roughage in their diet so.. that said -what does your diet look like?

I'd suggest taking in more water and look closer at your diet

I drink around a gallon of water a day. I also take the Fiber Choice Weight Management pills. There is 4 Dietary Fiber and 4 Soluble Fiber. They really help keep me full.
I eat a bagel, muffin or cereal for breakfast. For Lunch I have a SmartOnes frozen meals, salad and a yogurt and for Dinner I have what Ever I want (chicken, beef, pork) and there is always a veggie. Sometimes for a snack at night I'll have a scoop of low fat icecream.

how many grams of fiber are you getting - if you're keeping track fo your calories in any type of on line program it will record that info for you...

and howmany calories are you taking in a day

No, I am only counting my calories in my head. I am not keeping track of anything else (besides my weight :)).
I'm taking in about 1,300-1,500 calories a day.

Beans Beans, the magical fruit the more you eat them the.....well you know the rest.

there is something to this..well...not the music part. but they have been helpful for me with bathroom issues. i have ibs and its get to be ridiculous. but once i started eating beans nearly everyday, i don't have much of a problem. thankfully, i'm not musical either. :smilielol5:

you miht want to use a program like for a bit of time to see where your claories end up... it's looking like you're probably low on real fiber and those tablets aren't really doing anything for you...

for your breakfasts -r ead the labels of the cereals - and go for a high fiber cereal - basically anything over 5 grams of fiber per serving - and I'd probably go even higher than that... and add some fruits like strawberries or raspberries to your lunch -those smart ones meals are really kind of nutritional wastelands... there's a few threads on fiber around - do some reading and add some more to your food plan

Are baked beans ok? Or are you eating something like Goya Beans?

baked beans have a lot of sugar in them -but as an occassional treat aren't horrible for you.

Goya is a brand name and they have all sorts of products out there.. they have seasoned beans which are pretty good -they make for nice side dishes... or jsut let your fingers do the exploring on recipe sites and find recipes that include various beans..

I had the same problem but I bought a fiber suplement and it helped a lot, you should eat at least 25 grams of fiber per day I think.
