Hi,
My name is Keegz, I am a 22 year old Male from Melbourne, Australia.
I quit soccer and all sports around 5 years ago as I felt like I was being pushed into it by my parents and I wasn't doing what I wanted to do for myself.
This led to probably one of the worst decisions of my life as over that period I took up smoking, and was punching down a packet of 25-30's every day or two for 5 years. I also went from 78kgs up to 103kgs and had never felt worse about myself.
I am truely ashamed that I let it get that bad.. enough dwelling for now.
Last March I dropped the cigarettes for good and havent looked at once since, I just joined up to my local soccer team and have started playing again this season with some friends for fun which has been really good and I'm back loving the game more than ever again.
Since December 08 I have lost 21kgs and am back down to 82kgs. I had a big issue in between March - June with Shin Splints and Exercise Induced Compartment Syndrome. All went well thankfully and seems to have calmed down with some well deserved rest in between games.
I recently purchased a road race bike as to take the impact off the shins If I have the pains again.
My goal weight is to get down to 70-72kgs, I'm aiming for 72 at first and will re-access my goals when the time comes.
My current cardio routine recently is;
Monday - Jog for 3 minutes @ 10km/h - Run for 2 minutes @ 13km/h & Repeat until I have reached 30 minutes total cardio.
Tuesday - Jog for 3 minutes @ 10km/h - Run for 2 minutes @ 13km/h & Repeat until I have reached 30 minutes total cardio.
Wednesday - Soccer Training in the evening for 1.5 hours of drills and cardio.
Thursday - Jog for 3 minutes @ 10km/h - Run for 2 minutes @ 13km/h &
Repeat until I have reached 30 minutes total cardio.
Friday - Ride the road racer into town and back which is roughly 30kms and takes me around 40 minutes.
Saturday - Rest Day
Sunday - Soccer game (2 x 45 minute halves of cardio)
My eating/diet:
Breakfast: Low fat cereal (Special K)
Lunch: 2x Salad Sandwich (97% FF Mayonaise, Beetroot, Low Fat Cheese, Tomato, Cucumber, Lettuce, 97% FF shaved ham on wholemeal bread)
Dinner: Mixed steamed vegetables with lean meat/chicken.
I have noticed it has been pretty tough to lose weight from around 85kgs down to now, I think my body is getting used to the food intake and exercise routine. I am still losing a steady 1kg per week on average but I would like to start doing it with the implementation of a full body work out 2-3 times a week.
My friend is a personal trainer and he has done what I have which was lose around 20-25kgs and he said the implementation of a weights routine really helps boost the metabolism and calories burnt for longer periods than what a run would, which also asists in overall appearance and fitness.
I have come to this forum to gather some more information and help me maintane my motivation, I popped into my local gym which has just opened up about 5 minutes drive from home so I am going in tomorrow to sign up and start the weights training routine. I am not looking for size therefor I will be doing medium sized weights. My P/T friend has already written up a routine for me based on a few sessions we did at another gym last week as a test.
I hope these weights really assist in my weight loss as I can't remeber the last time I weighed 70-72kgs, just the thought get's me excited
I did take photos of the first day before I did any exercise and they are posted below, I will put some photos up of how I look right now for anyone who is interested. This will have to wait until tomorrow morning as I can't find the camera!
The final 10kg weight loss cycle has started
P.s It appears I cant post links to my pictures yet, so the before photos are in my Album which I think can be accessed via my name?
