Welcome to the boards Ashlie! (I love the way your name is spelled!)

I'm new too - just kinda feelin' my way out around here.

Anyway...welcome again!

Heya Ashlie,

Welcome to the forums.
I gained most of my weight with 4 kids also, but the weight gain after those kids was all my own doing lol. Im past halfway to loosing it now but good things take time :)

The kids truley do appretiate me being a lot slimmer and more active i tell you!

Wishes..WTG!
I have about 150 pounds that I really wanna lose. It just seems so hard to get the ball rolling on it! I know you have to be realistic with your goals but it seems I set one and if it's not acheived quick enough, I just give up...which I think alot of people do. I think my biggest problem is I cook to please my kids and most of what I cook is meats and starches. I hate the thought of having to buy 2 seperate meals (one to please the family and one for me) being that we're a family of 5 on a limited budget. My kids dont like many veggies though I do cook a veggie for me to eat instead of whatever starch I may cook for them.
I'm rambling.Anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome and good look with the rest of your weight loss!!

Try weening the kids over slowly.
Ive completly changed the holsehold diet and they have barely noticed.
I started by putting less mince in something like say nachos, and more veges to bulk it out. Eventually i put no mince in at all and they didnt notice until loud mouth husband said 'you cant call this nachos! theres no meat in it!'
I kept the menu the same, just changed the recipes. Also i tought them what they should or shouldnt be eating and trying to undo all the bad eating habits they learnt off me.
Often ill say 'You can have the milo or the cake, but not both' and let them make their own choice and also realize that you can have a little bit of bad food, but not all of it.

Its taken me 6 months, the first few being the hardest. After the first month or two the weight was just falling off to it gave me motivation to keep it up. Now i look a lot slimmer than i am and its just so exciting being able to do stuff i was never able to before!
The clothes are great! im loving it and cant wait to get to my goal weight!
