what is the best cardio excercise to do hiit on, if i wanna lose the fat and keep the muscle?? bike, a run, etc?? i dont really see how i can do this on a treadmill because it will be hard to change from a very high speed to a low speed quickly
i tend to run at 90-100% of my max sprint speed @ around 1-2 minutes, then i take at most, 2 minutes of jogging, then i repeat, my sessions last 30 minutes.
depending on ur own preference though
there are individuals who prefer to run 100% full potential of their sprint speed for 30 secs on a treadmill or just outside running. then u take a minute or so to catch ur breath *walking/jogging* and repeat. a total of 10 minutes.
recently, i've started to do my HIIT training for 10 minute sessions
90-100% of my heart rate, 30-45 seconds , on treadmill, max speed 12 mph
then I take a 45-1 minute or so jog @ 4.5 mph to catch my breath then repeat. up to 10 minutes.
