HIIT and weight lifting help

I am planning on doing some HIIT Training along with weight lifting to lose weight. Is this a good idea? I am no stranger to the weight room but I have gained a signifigant amount of weight and I have never done HIIT training before. Will the small workouts that it calls for really help with burning fat? I just started taking a stack of Protein Evolution by Intek, Detox Evolution by Intek, Velocity by Reaction Nutrition, Edge by Reaction Nutrition, and Glutacor by Kat-a-lyst.

HIIT is not a magic bullet for weight loss. It shortens the duration but increases the intensity so you burn calories in a shorter time frame. If done correctly, HIIT is a very intense workout so it should be used no more than twice a week. If you do it more often your body will not have a chance to properly recover and you will do more harm than good. Weight loss is more about eating healthy and consuming fewer calories than you need. Weight lifting combined with cardio will do the trick. Mix in HIIT once or twice a week and you are good to go.

For what it's worth I feel you are wasting your money on the supplements and would rather see you focus on a healthy diet...but it's your decision, good luck with your goals.

I am also spending money on all the good food that I can get my hands on as well and working on a low calorie diet with the exercise and supplements. I am eating 5 times a day.
Berakfast:4 oz plain oatmeal with stevia Supplements: Edge(1), Velocity(1)
Snack: 1/2 an apple with 1 tbsp almond butter
Lunch 4 oz Tilapia, 1 1/2 cup mixed vegetables no corn or carrots Supplements: Edge(1), Velocity(1)
Snack 3 oz mixed nuts Supplements: Protein shacke with Glutacor
Dinner: 6 oz Grilled Chicken, 1 cup mixed veggies no corn or carrots, 1/4 avacodo Supplements: Edge(1)
Protein Shake with Glutacor before bed.

Im wanting to do a full body workout in the morning with a pre workout shake as well as post workout shake and running in the afternoon but I dont want to lose muscle by running super long distances thats why I wanted to do HIIT Training at the end of the day but I have seen many people say not to do that.
