HIIT after weights?

I workout tues, thurs, sat with weights. Right after lifting I usually do 20min of HIIT. Okay or should I wait longer before I HIIT?

yes, I would like more information on this too...

Since I work out on monday, wedsday, and friday. And after I will run for 40-50 min, but not on friday (upper leg, calves) I run befor my work out.

but now I only run for 20min, doing Hiit. And every non work-out days I jog/run/walk for 60min.

I am in good shape for the run but since I am new to working out, is running after a good thing?

HIIT after resistance training can be hard on the system since both are anaerobic activities. If your body can handle it, go for it.

HIIT will burn more @ 20 min than your 45 minute jogging section (depending on the intensity of your HIIT session). But a nice 30-45 minute fast walk in the morning isn't a bad idea.

Optimally, hiit would be done on separate days from your weight training. The next best thing is after. Just don't do hiit or cardio before your real workouts...:D

I fond that Running for 15-20mins everyday is great. Still using the HIIT method.

that way your not warn out and doing it in the morning give you time to recover before hitting the gym in the evening.

Plus you burn more cals running a short distance every day, than if you do it a few times a week
