Alright, so knowing that, I am trying to lose close to 50 pounds! I am interested in knowing what exercises give high results, but of course still putting in the effort. I am pretty interested in swimming, but not sure if it will yield high results that can help me get an 8 pack.

Well could anybody please help me find those key exercises to make me lose the extra flub and get some abs?

Thanks,
8PH

Well, the biggest factor is going to be your diet. I'm sure others will come with exercise advice but to lose the weight, you are going to have to look at your diet. You will need to make the changes in what you eat so that you will create that calorie debt.

Swimming is a great exercise - but really, anything where you get up and move (especially for 30 minutes or more a day) is great. Consistency trumps all else.

So it's better to do walking or swimming 6 days a week than it is to go and do some super high intensity workout once in a blue moon.

If you enjoy swimming and can keep with it, it's a fantastic exercise though.

I personally go with weight training (to convince my body to drop fat instead of muscle) and the elliptical, but if you're actually moving and not just sitting on your butt, it's hard to go wrong.

Yea, Ive lost 10 pounds so far but Its such a hastle to maintain my pool haha. Do you have any ideas what other exercises I could do in the pool other than swimming?

Hi and welcome. Make sure you eat enough protein. If your protein intake is not enough then you will lose muscle. Have you worked out a diet plan for your goals. If not then start reading about nutrition. It's a balance between proper nutrition and exercise to gain muscle while losing fat. If you don't eat right then you'll lose weight including muscle.

Don't forget that diet and exercise will affect your Diabetes. If you are taking medication for it then be sure to check your blood glucose levels because you may need to make adjustments. Often when changing your diet and losing weight you will require less medication. Be sure to also let your Dr know about any changes you make.

Get some pool toys like one of those long tubes and put your foot in the middle while holding both ends and push it down. This will help create some resistance.
I also have a pool and do all the maintance on it. Doesn't matter if I use it or not. But I know what you mean about the hassle. Reminds me I need to backwash it this weekend!

Hey thanks for the help, any specifics on what is the best protein, also, check this out, im thinking of getting it for my pool, greenerpool.com, saves 70% on chlorine. Anyways, thanks again for the help and i was also wondering if running in the pool helps too??? How many calories does it burn?

Google Kettle Bell exercises - those are some high result exercises for sure combined with a good diet of course. Personally it's the best high intensity exercise I have ever done and burns major calories.

Any exercise that gets your heart rate up, and keeps it there for a while is going to burn fat away. Stair climbing is good, most people have those!
Best protein is lean meat like chicken.
Also, I lost 30lbs in 6 months of working out hard, then gained it back cause I hadn't changed my diet one bit. Be sure to combine. I've managed to loose over 40lbs and keep it off from diet alone! Exercise will only enhance that.

Exercise is physical activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health or welfare. Is done for several reasons. These include strengthening the muscles and cardiovascular system, improve their athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance and for fun
