High bmi - any suggestions

Hi,

I'm a 24 year old female, I recently did an online BMI calculation and was horrified at the results.

After high school, I got so involved in studies and my business that I "let myself go". I put on 35 kilograms in a short space of time and I'm struggling to lose this.

I started exercising and found that I lost a good few inches. However, I did not continue with it religiously and gained it all back with little more!

I'm here and open to any suggestions with regard to getting healthy again.

I'd really appreciate any advice or motivation.

Thanks :)

Hi and welcome, well you need to find a diet that fit you and start to exercise again.

You should use more vegetable such as salad, tomatoes, lettuce ... these could be better when raw. Hope this helps.

  • wear a pedometer and let it challenge you to walk a bit more. check how many steps you do and see if you can do more the next day... A lot of authorities say that we should all try to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. I aim to do more...
  • drink more water - most people do not drink enough water - aim for 1 ounce for every 2 pounds that you weight
  • have 5 servings or fruit or veg every day - raw or cooked in a healthy way (without sauces or butter)
  • try not to have junk food - sweets, takeaways - eat as clean as possible
  • switch high calorie things for low calorie equivalents - fry using fry light, opt for low fat yoghurts, cereal that isnt drenched in sugar already, skimmed milk, sweetener instead of sugar, diet drinks
  • opt for lean protein instead of fatty things - chicken without skin, trim fat off meat
  • join an exercise class and make friends there - if your social life involves exercise you may be more apt to do it - I love zumba

Thank You all Sooo much :) I really appreciate it!

Glad I joined here.
