Hi, my name is James and I am currently a student. I've been big all my life and have tried to lose way through out my early teens but with little success. This spring I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and on top of that high blood pressure. It is now time for me to lose wight not just for my appearance but for my life.

One major problem i have always had is staying motivated, but I feel this site might be just what I need to keep going.

Thank you for reading, and wish me luck.

start yourself a diary/journal - it's a great way to track yor successes and challenges as well as getting support and giving us a chance to get to know you better.

Motivation comes from within you... Just take it day by day, meal by meal on some days and keep reminding yourself why you want to get healthier and lose weight and you can do it :)

What approach are you planning on using? Do you have a food plan and exercise plan? read around this site a bit, especally the stickied threads, you'll get lots of ideas.

Good luck and welcome

sup james,

how tall are ya and how much do you weight, what are your goals.

this site is loaded with info and amazing people, we're all in the same shoes as you, dont be affraid to share. it will help u and help us in helping you stay motivated!

thanks for the advice guys

I'm 6'2 at 380 lb

I plan on taking a low carb/high protein approach to dieting. As far as exercise I've been lifting weights and riding my stationary bike for thirty minuets, I also walk to my local park and back when it's nice outside.
