Hi everyone, I just joined this site. I am wanting to lose 100 pounds! I have no idea which diet I want to try. I haven't even started yet. BUT I AM SO TIRED OF BEING OVERWEIGHT. I have tried so many diets. The one that worked the most for me was Atkins (low carb), but it is just so incredibly hard to stick to. I get bored with it. I do honestly have alot of self-discipline. So, I know I can do it, if I can just find something that works for me, and that I can stick with. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and get any kind of advice on what has worked for you guys.

Welcome Princess!

Just a suggestion, but how about considering a new lifestyle instead of 'another slimming diet'? You could start by imagining what kind of person that you would like to be, what kind of activities that she would engage in, what kind of lifestyle that would keep you slimmer, fitter, and healthier for the long term. Inside yourself, you probably know what makes you put on weight - the wrong kind of food / drink choices, not enough burning off those calories, etc. How about starting some long term changes now?

You could also think about a calorie controlled diet - for example, you could sign up for a free account at that you could use to track your calories with online.

Alternatively, you can try browsing through the diaries or weight loss programs sections to see how others are doing - or even start your own diary in the diary section.

Whatever, good luck with your journey, keep it going :)

Hi pink princess... I had 93 lbs to lose and I have lost 48 already in about 1 year. I know that that isn't a whole lot, but I am also not as strict on myself as I should be. I would try south beach. It has worked for me. It is lower carb but replaces bad carbs with good carbs. I don't get bored with it, and if you're on the go, they have prepackaged meals and lunch wraps. I try to prepare my own though, so that way my whole family can eat healthier. Best of luck!

life style change is important as we not only need 2 lose weight but get healthier. keeping a timeline to lose weight isnt as important as to start working out or dietary change..
