Hi, my name is Rob. I'm 18 and a junior in High School. I currently weigh around 175lbs. During the summer, I was around 196-198 so I dropped the lbs and I was happy. Now i'm trying to get to 160. I'v been getting alot of compliments latly from people asking if i'v been loosing weight. I always wanted people to notice but when people actually said it, I felt a bit embarrassed to say anything else. I'm currently a 35-36 inch waist and I want to drop down to a 32 by summer. I'm taking Gym as an elective this year and since i'm an upperclassmen, we get to workout the whole period if we choose to. I eat alot of salads and alot of subs and I drink alot of water.

Welcome, bud!

Nice to see you being so proative, so early! dont fall off :p or you could end up like me and be fighting from the 300lb line :p .

At the weight you are sitting, activity will play a big role in your loss. Running is a great way to trim. Also, stay away from the alcohol :p (i was 18 too). beer and booze can NOT be digested, and they contain ALOT of energy. Since they can not be digested they must be burnt before fats and carbohydrates, which will ultimatley be turned into stored fats :( .

Good luck on your journey!!!

Thanks everyone. I just found out that i'm really a 34in waist which is good. I Alot of people say i'm not fat which sometimes annoys me because I feel like I am. I'm guessing the major weight gain is from when my parents started their divorce and we moved here to Cleveland with my mom. Without a dad to be there and play sports and help you weight train and a mom who worked from 9-6. I guess I abused the food but now i'm glad to be loosing the weight fast. I also told myself that I would never reach 200 lbs unless I start bulking in muscle.

Doesnt sound like you are fat on the 'obese' scale, unless you are under 5'5". if you are about average height, lets say 5'10" (since you didnt say =p ) then 145lbs - 175lbs is a healthy weight range.

The best part of this is that you're conscious of it now.

Just keep your head on straight, stick to your life's goals, and you'll be ok. Just make sure you stay active, because at your age, you've got metabolism on your side. When that goes away.. well, let's just say that you don't want to be on the couch with a donut in hand. :D

Keep it up!

Best of luck to you. Sorry if you have mentioned this already, but how tall are you?

I'm around 5'9 to 5'11 somewhere in between. I am no where near being obese but I have some extra fat(mostly around my stomach, legs and some in my chest) that I want to get rid of intime for my senior year(Which I hope is my best year).
