Hello all, my name is Amy-lee, and my New year's Resolution was to lose weight. I was a chubby kid, but now i feel it is restricting my lifestyle, and although I dont want to be, I have become quite lazy and uninterested in exercise, although I love it once I have started!
I want to lost weight to:
* pursue a career with dogs= you need fitness for that!
* Ride horses again- it is my favourite activity, and I live for horses!
* Be healthy and fit into nice clothes without being embarrassed to shop in a "larger" clothes shop. I also want to feel special again.
* Because I am only young, I am starting university and wish to show the people at the high school reunion next year what I am made of! I want to stun them! I am also a member of TOWN- Take Off Weight Naturally, but it isnt really helping me, and I am seriously thinking about starting jenni craig (been to weight watchers, didnt help me there) just to get around 20 kilos off, and do it myself from there, although its going to be expensive! I'd love to meet any other people, especially teenagers and younger people, who are about to begin (or have begun) their journey, so we can be a support to each other. I am on the computer a few times a week, and look forward to meeting you all! Ultimately, I would love to lose around 40kg in all, maybe a bit more. Its not going to be easy.......but we will get there.....eventually!

Bonjour, Amylee! :) I'm Charity - and I'm pretty young too (21!). I've been "the chubby one" my whole life...growing up with a sister who's a size four was a little detrimental to my ego! Some girls get the good genes, I just got the plus-size jeans ;)

Anyway. Why don't you try Suddenly Slim! for ten days before trying all the money with Jenni Craig? I usually do a ten diet SS! diet to jumpstart my weight loss. The first two days are rough, but it's not bad...a shake and fruit for breakfast (and the shakes are really good! :p ) and a shake and salad/veggies for lunch and then the same for dinner. Then on day 3 you start eating like, cottage cheese and meat along with the salad and veggies for lunch and dinner. It's around $50 for the 10-day..but I've never lost less than 6 or 8 lbs! (And I know a LOT of people who have done it, and I'm a nurse, and believe in it 100%! It works thermogenically). Anyway, if you have any questions you can search it on Google. It's just an idea!

Welcome! ;)

hi amy,
Welcome we are stronger now that you are here. you don't have to do it on your own. this is a great place for encouragement and to get motivated and stay motivated. you can and will reach your new years goals. Glad you are here.

Welcome! I've just started at uni too, and I know where you're coming from! College just does horrible things to the unsuspecting person's body! Lol!

Heya amylee,

Good to see you here, lots of people here use various methods to loose the weight, i think the most common and sucessful is calorie counting, but there are all sorts.

set yourself up a diary in the diary forum and join in some challenges to keep yourself going :)

Thanks everyone- I'll try my best to become a regular part of this forum- I'll be pretty busy (as you all are too!) but will try! I just got back from my holiday to Queensland- my nose is sunburnt and I look like Rudolph the red-nosed-reindeer!!! Thnx for the tips charity!
