Hi

losing weight should never be done quickly, if you want it to stay off permanently... you want to have a healthy diet and exercise and you will reach your goal.

Having a healthy diet and exercise does take some work.... what's the old cliche -nothing worth having is ever easy... :)

Don't look for the easy way to get to your goal - make the change permanent

Why? Tell me a good reason and maybe I will help you. If you are lazy though, and just looking for a quick fix, then...... no thanks.

yeps i agree with maleficent.. no point losing weight fast cos u'll prob put on all the weight back once u get back to ur normal diet.. as the saying goes, no pain no gain..

Thank you for your replies. Because I don't have time to go to the gym what's the minimum time for exercising in a week in order to lose 3 pounds in a week?

I find it hard to believe you have no time, unless you are in med school. Even still, I have 2 friends that went through med school and still trained. I know working mothers with 2 babies a piece that still manage to train and take care of their famies.

Sorry for the bluntness, I just have a hard time dealing with people who don't make the time to take care of themselves. What's life without health?

Anyhow, maybe you will prove me wrong and have some crazy, insane schedule that I have never seen before.... if that is the case, I REALLY feel for you.

And to answer your question..... the minimum amount of exercise to lose weight. None.

Weight loss is completely about energy balance. Eat less then you expend and you will lose weight over time. That simple.

Optimal without cardio and resistance training? Absolutely not.

There is no "easy" way and the only real "fast" ways aren't good ones because you're likely to regain the weight, as others have already said.

3lbs a week is possible with a strict diet and LOTS of excercise, but it is recommended that 2lb a week is the most you should lose each week, to be healthy and to have the best chance of keeping it off.

Also, a lot depends on how much you weigh to begin with. Heavier people lose weight a lot faster to begin with than lighter people. How much are you to start with?
