Just a quick intro for me to get me started...

I'm in my late 30s and I have had 2 kids. I used to be very active in ballet and such as a kid, aerobics in my 20s and basically just trying to survive a wild ride with 2 young kids in my 30s. It was after kids that I started to really lose touch with my body and slowly gained 30 extra lbs. I've been trying to adapt to my new lifestyle for 5 years now and I'm hoping to finally make some good habits that last and allow me to shed some weight.

To be clear, it's not the extra pounds that I see in the mirror that bug me, it's that I cannot keep up with my children and it's painfully affecting my sleep (I soooo need my sleep!). And the lack of consistent workouts is giving me back pain. I want and need to improve in those areas and the body looking better is a nice bonus.

I want to create better habits. i'm still trying to flesh out my specific goals. But in general, I want to work on one habit per month. I think the first will be either stopping my emotional eating or meal planning, I can't decide which should be first...chicken or egg? Perhaps next will be consistent workouts.

I usually bite off more than I can chew and that messes me up, so I'm hoping to go slow this time and help the new habits really stick. Hoping by posting on a public forum, it will help me to be more accountable.

Thanks for listening!!!
