Hi I'm new

well hello
I am here obviously to pick up some tips on losing weight
for over a week I have been running every other day and have cut back on junk food but nothing is happeneing at all!
aren't people supposed to lose 1-2 pounds a week?
I know I'm 8st3 ish which I think is about 120 pounds?
I really want to lose about half a stone
I have a tiny frame and a big belly
going on holiday in just less than 3 weeks and I don't expect miracles but a few pounds by then would be nice and maybe an inch off the stomach

so.. help please? lol

..x.

oh.. and the username came from looking around me for inspiration, and spying my foundation haha

How many calories are you eating each day? Do you keep track of how much food (measurements)? Or do you guess?

I'm not a calorie counter
but I would guess less than 2000... maybe 1500?
less than before i started as well (obviously lol)

Wow, exactly where I started. For me I immediately lost a lot from being on my high school swim team but if you don't have that option, I would suggest daily exercise about 30 minutes.

Start off slow! I can't stress that enough because if you start off too intensely you will be sore the next day. Who wants to work out the next day when they are sore? Not me. Another important thing I find is whatever exercise you do make sure you like it or at least have someway of it being fun. If it's not fun and you hate it then why torture yourself? That won't last very long.

What I Do & How to Make them Fun:
Walking-carry a portable music player with you to listen to while walking. (I used a cassette player for a long time and listened to the radio but not everyone can be so tolerant of commercials every 5 minutes)
Have a walking partner that you can talk to keep you motivated to keep going. Also it's a good way to lose weight and catch up with a friend.
Bicycling-easy on the joints and saves gas if you need to get somewhere moderately close at first.
Swimming-also easy on joints and can be enjoyed with others in swim aerobic classes.
(Thats just a few of what I've done and has worked for me. Of course your a different person and you'll have to see what works best for you.)

Good Luck to you! :)

well I run every other day (as I don't want to do it every day because I know I would hurt myself as I have ermm lets say delicate joints)
and I go swimming once a week
and go to the gym once a week
but at the moment I don't really have time for things like walking because of exams
thanks for the advice though

..x.

oh and another thing to add in sorry lol
but I have a really weirdly high resting heart rate of about 90bpm, but I'm not unfit at all
and during exercise it will go up to around 184bpm (which is still within range, 220-age)
but do you think this may be a problem? or making it harder for me to lose weight?

..x.
