Hi, im new and gotta bowflex question!

:) HI!

Im Tonee.. 25 yrs... Female!

My question is a little different... I have a bowflex sport, and i need to build some chest muscles, dr.'s orders.

im very little, 92 lbs 5'2". I CANNOT gain weight i've tried and tried and it only goes to my butt, and i really don't like that much lol

anyway... im not really good at all this weight training stuff, so if anyone who has some tips for me on doing what i need to do and then just toneing up all over with this machine (it's my husbands, and he's deployed so i haven't the clue where to start) i'd really appreciate it :)

do you have the owners manual for the bowflex? It should have some exercises in it and what they do.

I have no experience with it, so I can't be of much help.

Do flat bench flys and bench presses by lying on the bench and using the individual handgrips attached to the squat cables. Same thing can be done using a pair of dumbbells.

As shown in the manual, use the incline for chest flys and bench presses, though i find the flat bench versions above are better.

Sounds like you were putting on FAT and not MUSCLE :) Remember: Muscle weighs more than fat.

If you do chest workouts (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.php?MainMuscle=Chest) and get plenty of protein in your diet, you'll build muscle. Remember to give yourself a day or two to rest between each weight-lifting workout. Another rule of thumb: Muscles grow at rest, not during a workout.
