Hi - I'm Emma.

I am 24 and currently living in Oregon. I currently weigh 223 pounds and am 5'8". This is the heaviest I have ever been and I am finally to the point where I feel uncomfortable and I stick out. I have a 2 year old daughter and I want to be a healthy mom who can play without having to sit down. I am too young to be held back!

So, this is day 2 into my lifestyle change. Any tips or advice would be wonderful!

Thanks!

Hi Emma!

This is my second day on the forum, so I am almost as new to this as you are. The only advice that I have, that someone gave me is to take small steps. Don't expect to much of a difference at first. And your goal will be reached.

Good Luck! :) :hurray:

spend some time reading around the forum and remember that this is a lifestyle change, not a short term diet.. so take it small changes at a time.

The quote i use frequently around here comes from the book, The Power of One... and it' sthat a waterfall begins with a single drop of water, and now look what it's become.

You have to start somewhere...

Welcome, my only advice right now would be not get down on yourself if you have minor setbacks along the way toward your goal. Believe in yourself.

Thanks everyone!

I've gone through the week without touching a caramel macchiato from Starbucks (huge deal for me) and I have avoided as much fatty foods as I can while drinking mass amounts of water. Obviously after a week there's no difference in weight, but I feel so much more energetic just from making healthier choices. I honestly never ever use to drink water... only coffee or diet sodas. I can't believe how much more awake I feel just from drinking water all day long.

I feel great about this!

Be sure to write down how you feel on paper so you can remember how you feel energy-wise for future reference.

Hi Emma, Well done for deciding to so something about your weight. The hardest bit can be admitting you want to change something.

You can start a diary which I have found really usefull, it helps you to keep track of everything, also reading other peoples is really good for motivation!
All the best and good luck with your weight loss journey.

Love Becky X
