Hi!!!

For the first time in my life I have decided that it is time for a change. It took me to stand in that bathroom mirror a couple weeks back and just really see I don't like the me I am starting to become. I realized that I have never been able to say "I am in the best shape of my life!"...that really hurt me and has made me want to make a change for a better, more healthy, more attractive me!

So here I am. I am 23 years old, 295lbs, 6'4" and ready to lose this disgusting beer gut. I will be active on this forum and I will have tons of questions.....starting now! :)

So what do I do first? I have some workout equipment on its way in the mail but once I get it, I will only know about a few exercises. What equipment should I get? What do I do (best exercises) and eat (best diet) for the most effective results.

Now I will say I am not looking for my hand to be held and I hope the fact that I am a 'newb' doesn't upset people. I really just want to start a new, better, healthier life for myself. I figure since the experts are here, then this is the best place to start. All help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!!

First of all, welcome to the forum! You'll find great advice, motivation and support here!

What equipment do you have "coming in the mail"? You're going to want a male perspective on this but as a woman, I'm in love with my treadmill and the wii fit. I would start slow. There are sections on the forum where you can read about different exercises and diets. You can choose a diet that suits you best. Most people here prefer to cut down on calories and make small changes rather than jumping right into a specific diet. Personally, I started the 17 day diet a month ago and lost 18 lbs. Just do some research and decide what is best for you at this point. Take it slow and if you have any more questions we're here! I definitely suggest starting a diary to keep track of progress. It'll help you watch what you're eating and make adjustments as necessary!

So once again, welcome to the forum! Great to see new faces!
