Hi I'm new here. I'm just hoping to get a lot of tips on how to achieve that six pack we all want. It's my New Years Resolution to have one by June 1, 2007. Also, I'm always looking for a new cardio routine to do on my cardio machines. Any suggestions. I own a recumbent bike, treadmill and a Gazelle.

Hi Albertamommy,
Welcome to the forum :)

I don't have any specific cardio tips for the machines you have - most of my cardio comes from race walking - are you adding any strength training to your line up?

Hmm by June 1st huh? Sounds good to me, let's do it together...I, like a lot of other people, want one too. So let's do this! I do know that the tip to a 6 pack isn't a bunch of ab exercises, we have to get that fat from ontop of them first. So cardio is a MUST. Then we have to work the entire ab area, not just the upper and lower abs, the obliques and I'm sure there's some other area I'm leaving out.

I'll do some more research, I started off developing an ab work out with this goal in mind last fall after I met my weight loss goal. I need to get back on it so I thank you for bringing it back to the forefront of my mind.

Woo Hooo! *shakes pom poms* We're going to do this!!!!

PS Have you started a diary so I can touch base with you. After I get things altogether I might just create a thread about it. Stay on me though! :p

Hi M2M,

I strength train all body parts at least once a week maybe twice depending on how much time I have as I work full time and commute to work. I have been doing cardio 4 times a week and I mix it up between interval, circuit and long walks. I feel as though my abdomen is getting larger. Jeans that I've had for years are too tight now. Maybe I'm getting a JLo butt. I'm not sure. The scale I have is telling me that I am 29% body fat. I'm 5'3 and weight 129 lbs. I haven't lost or gained any weight since I got serious about fitness ( over a year ago). The testing device at Curves told me that I was 26% body fat back then. How can it be more now? I watch what I eat. Do you have any suggestions on a more precise way to measure body fat. I watch those reality shows and they measure some women who are much bigger than me and they are apparently 25% or so. It's very discouraging. Help! Crying in Canada.
