Hi from a newcomer!

Hi everyone!

My name is Jim (well, that's my nickname, anyway). I just joined this forum today, but after being a lurker for some time.

Basically what happened is, we had a short bout of cold weather, so I got out my fall/winter clothing and realized I cannot wear ANY of it! I could tell I'd gained some weight recently, but I guess I didn't realize how much...

I don't even have a scale or anything yet, but I'd guess I need to lose 30-40 pounds to get back to a healthy weight. I haven't really been at a healthy weight since the beginning of college, actually.

My problem is mainly "recreational eating." Seriously, I've made it into a leisure activity! If I have some free time, I'll go to the store and buy food and eat it, and that's my idea of a good time. Messed up, right? Other than that, I actually don't have terribly bad eating habits, and I get a fair amount of exercise walking around during the school day. So I think if I can cut out the fun eating, that alone should help me lose weight, really.

So, that's about it. I hope this forum will help me to stay on track with my endeavors! :)
 
Yeah that's one thing about school.. I'm in University and sometimes you have no time to eat healthy.. and you end up getting stuff on the go like fast food.. the thing is, that you need to make it a priority.... get up 20 minutes earlier in the morning to make a lunch and a few snacks.. Anyways, I wish you good luck!
