I'm so excited to start becoming healthier and happier. This is such a great tool, I look forward to reading peoples post and being able to relate and learn from them! I don't have much support at home, just my husband and I, he's never had a problem with weight and everytime I start something he always sabatoges me :(

Hello. Welcome to the forum.

I know what is like to be sabotaged, family never understands...

I would suggest by trying to make changes you are comfortable with, and sticking to a calorie number. (depending on your objectives)

Good luck, have a nice week! :)

Hey kjourney! Welcome! I'm a newbie here too and I agree, this is such a great tool! I know what you mean - my boyfriend DOES have a bit of a problem with his weight but isn't in any hurry to resolve it, so if I don't keep my will power firm, he can encourage me to fall off the bandwagon when he orders a pizza, or suggests take out, etc. I agree with AthalaRanger above, stick with changes you're comfortable with. One thing that is super easy to do that will help you to shed pounds it make sure that you're well hydrated. I bought a 1 liter BPA-free water bottle (BPA is a bad chemical found in lots of plastics and I suggest a bottle that's marked as BPA-free) and I chop up some lemons/grapefruit, chuck it in, and fill up the bottle a couple of times a day and make sure I drink it all before 5 ot 6pm so I'm not peeing all night. No matter what else you do, this is a VERY easy way to start, I think, because often times when you feel "hungry" your body is actually thirsty and the signals get a bit mixed up, plus, when you're drinking lots of water throughout the day, it discourages you from overeating. It helps you sleep better which helps energy levels and makes you feel less tempted to eat something not-so-good for you for a "pick me up" This has just been my personal experience, I drink about 2.8 liters of water per day currently in addition to whatever water content I get from the fruits I eat. Don't worry! You can do it! Once you start seeing results it is very encouraging and gets easier as you go :) I'm about 40 pounds in to my weight loss journey and I have another 20 to go!

Hey and welcome. I'm completely new here too, but it seems like a great site.
Hope to see you around.

Sarah :)
