I just joined today. I'm 25 years old and currently weigh 393 lbs. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I recently visited the doctor and received some bad news. She told me that I probably have diabetes because my glucose level was high. I've been checking it at home, and it's been averaging about 100. I also have borderline high blood pressure and elevated bad cholesterol. Basically all health conditions that come along with being obese! I've decided that it's time to start living healthier. I've cut out sugar and white flour and have lost 23 lbs so far. Yay me. :) I've come here to hopefully talk to other people who are or have been in the same boat as me and to learn more about being healthy.
 
Welcome to the forum! And congrats on the weight loss so far! Keep it up! Have you thought about starting a diary in the weight loss diary section? That's usually the best place to find others that are in the same boat and to get feedback and support. Good luck!
