Hi everyone!

Hi -

My name is Matt Lisk. I was an obese 32-year old man with a host of health issues until I lost 80 pounds in 8 months and have maintained 10% body fat for over 3 years by using a pretty unique diet plan. In fact I was recently featured on [link removed] - what an honor!

Now I am trying to convert myself into a competitive powerlifter at 220 pounds - crazy I know! My current best 1RM are 415 DL, 405 Squat and 265 bench, so I have a long way to go! My goal is to break 1200 combined this year.

When it comes to fat loss I would consider myself pretty knowledgeable, and I am learning daily about powerlifting.

Hope to help others achieve what I did - health and happiness every day and a renewed interest in taking care of themselves.

Best regards -
Matt

Hey Matt,
Welcome to the site and congrats on your amazing journey. Care to share some tips or what you are doing for a lifting program?

Heya Matt,

You are welcome to the forum, but please do not link to external sites which have fad or gimmick diets or try to sell anything.
Whilst i dont want to discredit your weight loss, we have people on board who are probably a lot more knowledgeable. And to be honest, any diet called "the burrito diet" sounds very much like a gimmick :)

Thanks for the lukewarm welcome. I have not violated the terms and conditions in any way. The link was not to a sales page or to anything that I created - it was to an unsolicited feature story about me and my weight loss on AOL.com - have any of your "much more knowledgeable" members received such accolades? Do you always insult people like that here? Kinda violates the sense of community, don't you think?

My goal is to help people lose weight and feel better about themselves the way I did. If anyone read the story, I was essentially given a "lose weight or die" decision, and I decided to lose weight. And while The Burrito Diet sounds gimmicky, that is the beauty of it - it's not. I could link to several reviews by well-known people in the strength and conditioning community, but I could see that I would be wasting my time.

I don't tout Acai berries, miracle pills, drinks, or advocate relying on fast foods - please do not lump me in with those people. I found a unique way to conquer one of the things that people struggle with the most on diets - portion control. And by using high-fiber, high-protein tortillas I increased satiety while maintaining regularity. There, I gave away the whole diet - sound like someone who's got something to sell?
