Hi everyone. I am Jackie, 31, married with 3 kids. I have been trying to get in shape and have been dieting and exercising since Oct. 07. So far I have lost 20 lbs. from beginning at 210 lbs. I began exercising by walking 45 minutes every day. 2 weeks ago I started going to the gym, using the treadmill for 25 minutes at 3.0 and do weight lifting for another 30. I started by buying a book called "eat more weigh less" by Dr. Dean Ornish. I found that eating by his guidelines, I started to feel better, not so tired any more. His guidelines are basically to eat "whole foods", cut out meat and fats and sugars. I want to get down to about 150 lbs. and see from there if I should lose more. I'm happy to have found a site where I can discuss diet & fitness with others in the same weight struggle.
 
Welcome and Congrats on the success so far!!! You are doing great! I think that like all of us you will find this forum to be amazingly helpful to stay on track!!! Its great the support that is given here! If you ever need someone to talk to we are all here!!!
