Am new to this forum and thought I would say 'hi' to everyone.

A few years ago, I was 50# heavier than I am now. I managed to get myself down to a healthy weight and am now in maintenance.

Am not going back to the size I was.

I'm a Certified Comprehensive Coach, and one of the first things I get my clients to look at is how they care for themselves.

You are the most significant element of your life, relationship, business, etc.
If you're not taking care of you, you won't get very far with anything else.

I am passionate about overall health, fitness and wellness.
Look forward to learning from you all.

All the best

Certified Comprehensive Coach.

Can you provide a link where I could research that a bit?

How did the weight loss go for you? What kind of exercise regime did you use?

I'd recommend looking around the site to see the community here. Check out the stickies. Very important. Many people don't look at the rules, and a lot of the rules here are different from other boards.

So there's no exact correlation between that certification and human health and science?

My weight loss journey

Hi Trops

I was on the Divorce Diet. :)

Back in 1999, I was heading for divorce and did not want to be single and overweight. So, I started walking on a treadmill.
Having been sedentary for so long, it was arduous at first and I could only go a few minutes. As I kept at it, the times and speed increased. Then I started on the jogging programs and eventually was running for 30 minutes at a time.

I made some shifts in my diet and started drinking more water. I love crunchy snacks, so that was one of the hardest things for me to back off.

I subscribed to Men's Health magazine and began to get more educated on health, exercise and nutrition. One day, I saw an exercise routine that felt like it was written for me. It was a combination resistance/cardio routine with a daily eating plan.

I started following that routine to the letter. And, it delivered. I actually overdid and went a little too lean. I backed off and established a healthy weight for me.

I must add that, at the time, I was divorced and unemployed, so I had ample time to work out every day. Plus, exercising was very good for my emotional state.

Today, I walk daily and regularly do a light resistance routine. I follow the 80/20 rule with my diet. I eat diligently and healthily 80 percent of the time, and I eat what I want for 20 percent. I have recently taken up yoga also and am enjoying the additional benefits of that discipline.

For me, it's not about deprivation. The diet or exercise routine you stick with is the one that you like.

I met my current wife a few years ago, who happens to be a gourmet cook. Luckily, she is an expert in meal planning and strategizing, so we maintain the healthy perspective on our meals and minimize last minute trips to take outs and fast food.

All the best
Mark
