Hi! Buddy please? How Long Will It Take?

Hi I am Charmaine, I'm from Australia :) I am 17 (18 in May) and a tiny
152 cm short, I currently weight 57 kilos (sorry I don't do pounds) and I am terrified of hitting 60 kilos. I am only 10 kilos (approximately 20 pounds) overweight, but I'm not going to let it get any harder then it's going to be. I feel really discouraged because I feel like it's going to take months and months and years.

I would really like to have a Buddy that I can relate to, to help motivate or support eachother, preferably a female around the same age.

It would really and I mean really help if somebody could tell me approximately how long it would take for me to lose this weight according to my age etc. I have already cut down to 1200 calories which is the simple part and try to drink lots of water.

The reason I put on weight in the first place is because I had been eating a lot of take away, and a few years back I tried to put on weight because I was wearing childrens sized clothing (being so little, not to mention 42 kilos) and found it really hard to find nice clothes, but I guess I got addicted to eating fast food (coz it tastes so goood) and I lost control of it.
So now I wish that i was still 42 kilos and wearing kids clothes than 57 kilos and hating my body.

I would like to lose this weight in a couple of months how much exercise do I need?

Charmine

Hey, and welcome to WLF!! =)

Typically, a minimum of 3 days a week of 30 min of cardio is reccommended, but if you can do more, then all means do so.

Also, if you go to the link in my signature, it will give you an estimate of your BMR (basal (sp?) metablic rate), which would approximate how much calories you would burn if you just sat in bed all day for a 24 hour time period. Using this, you can estimate a time period for you to reach your goal. (i'm not sure how much calories are in a kilo though :p)

And all of us are willing to help motivate for you, and hopefully, you do find your buddy.

Good to have you aboard mate. I would love to visit austraila, would be awesome :p.

Hey! I'm new too and looking for a similar weight support buddy!

I'm 22 from the UK.. 5ft 3 (not sure how much that is in cm) and 134lbs 9 and 3/4 stone.. want to get down 117 in time for my graduation ball in 6 weeks but keep it off! My weight has yo yo'd since i left home and have been cooking for myself etc and now Im a bit stuck.. I totally appreicate what u mean by shifting weight when you're small is so difficult.. every lbs makes SUCH a difference.. I started my diet on Mon- the GL diet to keep my metabolism high (thats important esp at ur age) and I want to do more excersis but with my finals coming up tis difficult.. a ehalthy regular weightloss (that will actually stay off) is 1- 3lbs a week (otherwise you're just losing water) so 3/4 of a stone in a month is possible but ur pushing it.. YOU can do it : ) :D xxx

Hi Sam,
I would love to have a positive support buddy like you, sometimes I wish i was much taller sometimes so I could gain 20 pounds without it noticing. I have a friend whose weight just goes to her boobs :/
But I guess it's not so bad because i should probably be living healthy anyways. It is very easy for me to lose weight in my family, we have very fast metabolisms, I was always underweight. I jus detest physically exercising! and I really love cream and butter haha! My Mum is filipino so the food I eat at home is very healthy (and yummy) but i guess i eat lots of it. I stay up late so i eat 2 dinners sometimes and i no thats worse than eating a big dinner in the first place.

What are your plans to lose weight?
