Im not sure if i have been eating enough.I have cut my calories by quite alot and have been very hungry. At first i lost 4 pounds in 9 days and seem now somehow to have put it back on.Is it possible that im not eating enough?

It is certainly possible that you are not eaten enough.

You do not mention however
how much you weigh
how many calories you eat
how many calories you burn
your age
your gender

whether you have calculated your calorie balance
how nutritious your diet is

All these factors would be needed for you to deduce how much you should eat to lose weight effectively.

As far as your recent weight gain - it may also be worth knowing how much sodium is in your diet, whether a gain could be down to time of month and how your toilet activity is going....

hi omega i am 5ft11" and am weighing 219 pounds i am not sure exactly how many cals i am taking in but have been hungry and suffering with headaches.i am eating very healthily lots of fish and veg and allways porridge for breakfast.i think i am taking in the weight watchers equiv of 16-18 points when my daily limit should be 26 but i feel this is just to much.

Hi

How many calories a day are you eating? You need to give more info about yourself if you want help. look around the site you will find a lot people who will help you.

i feel this is just to much.
Really? Why would you think that a healthy guideline developed by the plan you've chosen is too much? Have you researched how many calories / points you need to be healthy?

At 219 pounds, you should be eating around 2000 calories a day to lose weight at a safe and reasonable rate. By ignoring the advice given to you by Weight Watchers and eating only 16-18 points, you're only eating around 900 calories a day - less than half of what you need.

No wonder you're hungry, feel sick, have headaches and so forth. You're starving yourself. And I'm dead serious here. A 900 calorie diet is less than prisoners in many Nazi camps were fed.

Honestly I don't meant to be harsh, but I don't understand why you would choose a diet plan to follow and then proceed to IGNORE the guidelines they give you for healthy and safe weight loss because you "think" it's too much.

Please start eating more. You're not doing yourself any favors by starving yourself.

Start by registering for a free account at fitday.com or thedailyplate.com and logging your food. You'll get a good idea of how many calories you're eating AND what kind of nutrition you're getting.

Making sure you eat healthily foods in reasonable amounts is the keystone for weight loss and maintenance. It's vitally important - even more than exercise!

BTW, I combined your two threads. :) It's not necessary to post the same thing in different areas of the board - it actually makes it harder for people to respond because different information winds up in different areas. Just post once and I promise people will respond! :)

hi thanks for replying and thanks for combining threads kara(im new!!) ive just weighed myself and am so dissapointed- ive had a couple of days off as got fed up of being hungry and have put back on the 4 pounds i lost and another pound.Dont know why i chose to allow myself to get so hungry its like i have allowed myself to forget all of my food knowledge. Is 16-18 ww points really only 900 cals? no wonder ive been so flakey lately.I have previously lost 2 and a half stone with ww so i know it works just was trying to make it happen faster(obviously not though!)

Also i am trying to find out how many calories i should be eating but the online results vary so much. i am 5ft11 220 pounds and would like to loose 2 pounds a week. one site says 1400 per day.Do you think this is ok?

Reread Kara's above post: YOu should be eating around 2000 calories a day, at your present weight, to lose weight in a reasonable manner. 1400 is too low for someone your size.
