Hi everyone!
I dont really know what to write here so im just going to write a mini-weight-biography :p
Ive been strugling with my weight ever since i could remember. Im about to turn 18 in december, Im graduating in November and i realy would like to loose atleast 5 kilos.
Right now im the heaviest ive ever been in my life and ashamed that i let myself become this way: 106 kilos/233.7 pounds and 167cm/5.5ft
Ive tried soo many diets and all of them made me loose water and not actual weight. I used to go to the gym, i even had a personal trainer for a couple of months, but i was low on time and also was totaly unmotivated. And thats why i stopped going.
I know what needs to be done to actually loose weight, but im completely unmotivated. I've realised that when loosing weight, or trying to accomplish any hard goal one needs to have support...And this is why i joined :)
...I should stop typing now heheh.
I hope this website/forum will give me the personal strength and motivation to loose the extremely unwanted weight.

We're close in starting weight (226) and height (5'6"), so I feel for you. Like you, I have known exactly what to do for a while. It took me some time to commit to doing something about it. Now that I have, I've started losing! You've taken the first step! Congrats.
You should drink lots of water, eat more veggies, restrict simple carbs (sugar, enriched grains). You may feel very hungry at first but that will pass. You'll get the hang of it and start losing in no time.
 
Welcome! Im pretty new myself here too! I know it can be unmotivating aswell and thats why i joined on here too! Its awesome to be in the same "boat" with everyone and know what everyone is sort of going through!!

I know exactly what you are going through..although I must say that when I had a personal trainer...that was the best thing ever! Personal trainers work you really hard..but alas..PT does cost a fair bit!
Anyways, I think maybe the focus for you needs to be on health..and rather on food. At the start of the year I adopted that attitude and felt fantastic! Had fruit on the mornings, was feeling brighter, exercised more...but unfortunately haven't maintained that. I also gained 10kg in 3 years(5kg or so in 6 months!!) and I'm also ashamed to say that it is entirely my fault.
Nevertheless, I know what its like to feel ugly, not fit in clothes that I used to, to not want to go running at the gym(for fear of letting others see my flabby butt shake!- counterproductive), to purposely wear a few clothes which I think still make me look ok, and to just feel really exasperated. I can't say that I've handled those feelings of exasperation too well- I get so down..then I go and eat(which any normal person would think- what are you doing?!!).
It's great that you've recognised the need to become a healthier and fitter person..and to gain more energy and to reap more from life!!
I'm not a huge gym person(although I joined)..but really enjoy dancing eg hiphop and salsa dance. Maybe dance might work for you?
