Hi All, Another Newbie Here

Reality is I'm female, single, 43 years old and fat.

Inside I'm still the slender 20 year old that could eat virtually anything and could turn just about any man's head. Now I'm considered morbidly obese, and my long term relationship is on again and off again.

I have 75 pounds to lose. I've been steadily gaining weight since my mid 30's. I have yo-yo dieted in the past to lose as much as 35 pounds, but can't keep it off.

I recently had a hysterectomy and was on injections for 6 months before the surgery to put me into menopause because of stage 4 endometriosis. During that time I gained almost 30 pounds.

The good news is I'm 8 weeks post surgery, and I'm feeling fantastic as far as women's issues go. I feel badly, however, because of all this weight.

The surgeon has given me the ok to start exercising. I have to limit weight lifting to no more than 10 pounds until he tells me differently, but it's a start!

I'm glad to have found this board, as I've picked up a lot of good tips and have read many stories to help motivate me.

Let's get this party started! :jump:

Congratulations on deciding to make the change in your life! I joined up not too long ago and have found everyone to be more than helpful. Don't be afraid to ask anyone questions, we're all here for the same reason. :]

And I'm glad to hear that you're doing well after surgery. I can relate to you in the endometriosis aspect, my doctor thinks that I may have it. Not stage 4 though, possibly 1 or 2.

Anyway, welcome and have fun here!!

xoxo

Thanks for the welcome, Dcarr and Ellebelle.

I hit a mini milestone today. Accordingly to my Fit Day account stats, I have finally moved from extreme obesity to obesity.

Wow, I never though I'd be glad to be called obese...but it sure beats extreme obesity.

At least it's a step in the right direction, and I'm looking forward to getting back to a healty weight and lifestyle thanks in part to the support of the members of this forum.

A hearty welcome to all the other newbies on board. You've come to the right place!

Howdy and Welcome to the WLF, congrats on your weightloss so far.
You'll do gr8 and reach your goal in NO time,Tammy

Thanks, Tammy!

I'm looking forward to kicking some butt (and losing some butt) in the Halloween challange.

Thanks for starting the challenge and all the hard work you're doing to put it together!

Hey, we are the same age. My highest weight was 220 also. Medication helped me gain the weight. Welcome to your new life. Read as much as you can under On Topic, a posting by Tom called Words of Wisdom.

Anyweight you lose, even five pounds is a success and the small ones add up.

This process is long and takes dedication and the ability to fall and get back up again.

But its rewarding, every day can be a good one.

Hi! Just wanted to drop by & wish you luck in this Halloween challenge. We are both on the House on Weightloss Hill team.

Also have to say that moving from extreme obesity to obesity is AWESOME!!! Congrats!

Just wanted to welcome you to the WLF and say hello to a fellow HC teammate! Sorry to hear about your recent surgery and troubles. But you are on the right track, and our team is gonna kick some fat to the curb!!

You should start up a diary in the diary section. :)

Hi there! welcome to the WLF !
I just wanted to say Hi. We're on the same Halloween Challenge team and I'll be cheering you on ! And like Kimberly said, you should start yourself a diary . It'll help you keep track of all the weight your gonna lose! Best of luck to you !

Thanks so much to fellow teammates MoonGoddess, bikinibound and MidGaGuy. I'm looking forward to cheering you all on and learning more about you. Go team!

Had a minor setback this week. I was down to 209 and 3 different parties did me in, and I'm back to 214...ugh! Oh well, it will soon be gone again. Just have to remain focused and disciplined. The Halloween Challenge and my fellow teammates will be a big incentive to help me do exactly that!

Thanks for the suggestions to start a weight loss diary here. I'm a little bit on the reserved side as far as revealing too much online, but perhaps I'll get a little more bold and start one up. Just joining and posting on this forum was a huge step for me, but I'm slowly coming out of my "online shell"...LOL! In my offline life, I am neither shy nor reserved.

Go team go! :pumpkin:

Party Hardy

Sounds like the parties are the real challenge, amen? You sound like a smart girl.
Controlling weight became a lifetime venture around 24 yo for me. I was very thin prior to that. Like you I ate what I wanted and even longed to have some more weight on. I admired the more hour glass figure. Here I am. A little volumptuous in places I had not planned on. lol
Welcome,:rotflmao: Kathy

Hey there teammate.

How are you doing this week with the challenge? Guzzling that water down?

We are going to lose with this challenge, weight I mean. Anyway just wanted to wish you luck & check in.

(as for the dairy, you don't have to reveal anything to any of us. I'm just glad you are here & doing this for yourself... & being such a supportive teammate!)

This site will keep you dedicated. Keep your physiological stressors in mind and work closely with your doctor.
Good luck!
