Hi all, advice needed for a beginner.

Hi all,
I’m hoping quite alot of people frequent this forum so you can help me....

I’m a 26 year old male from the UK.
In the past year I have lost weight and become a reasonable weight back in 30inch waist trousers again.
However, recently I have tried to get some lean muscle.
I love the classic and iconic lean physique of Charles Bronson (the actor not the prisoner), and ...just to cite another reference, I love Hellboy’s (yes the cartoon character lol) physique in it’s defined muscle. Therefore, i am specifically interested in lean muscled (defined) pectorals and abdominals.
I'd love to have a physique more like this;





Basically I have not joined a gym yet, though I intend to next week. I have only weights at home. Recently I have been doing quite a bit of weight lifting, and situps and alot of press-ups.
Although I am getting some definition on my abdominals, I’m not happy in how my pectorals are developing.

Can you guys give me advice please!? Specifically on;
A) home and gym exercises for pectoral and abdominals.
B) dietry advice for putting on lean muscle, though keeping off water retention and of course avoiding flab. (I do have an ongoing trouble with water retention, though at a minimum now, it is caused by medications I use for asthma and allergies).
C) any other advice you may have regarding what I’ve said above.
