Hello to everyone out there in fitness land!! I just joined and I'm excited to be a part of this! I have never really participated in any forums before but I'm hoping to learn some new things and keep my motivation high! :newbie:

Welcome aboard!

In my experience, motivation is a temporary phenomenon and fat loss is a long term process. Be careful relying too heavily on motivation, as when it runs out... if it's the only thing supporting your fat loss efforts... they'll die off too. Sure, finding motivation doesn't hurt. I'm simply saying to fuel your progress with more.

I'd focus on building a logical, individualized, and flexible plan of attack that you believe in.

Steve, I appreciate the welcome and the warning. I have found that in my experience - working at a Gym for 6 years, teaching weight training classes for 2 and being a personal trainer - that you can't rely on one source for motivation. Yes motivation may fizzle out but we must find it from many sources! It is something that I think we all must heavily rely on. For without the motivation or the will to "make those healthy choices" we would all be in rough place. With that said, I'll keep my positive attitude and high motivation to get me to where I am going!
