Hey there

Hi all,
Ive been loitering around this forum for a little while and I thought I had better introduce myself :)
So some info, I am female, 19 and 5ft 6/7 inches (not exactly sure) and I weigh 143lb, which is down from 147lb quite recently and almost 150lbs before that...
I was quite a chubby child but when I got to around 16 I suddenly slimmed down but since then with moving out to go to university my weight started to creep back up.
Anyways I dont think I ever got out of being a healthy weight but I was on my way there so I started controlling what I was eating, less fat more veggie etc and doing some more exercise.
And it seems to be working quite well, on a typical day I will have 2 wheatabix with semi skimmed milk and a mug of green tea or cranberry juice for breakfast. Lunch is normally a ham sandwich on brown bread with low fat spread. For dinner I might have a rice dish (brown rice) or some soup, or pizza, or pasta, it really depends.
As for exercise I have a home stepper machine and some little dumbells that I use around 3 times a week.
I dont want to be exessivly skinny, just to stay healthy would be good, and if I can drop a dress size while im at it thats good to :)
Er apart from that, I like to get 8 hours sleep a night and dont skip breakfast.
You guys seem to have a nice community here so I hope to stick around and thnx for reading all that ramble :)

If that's your average daily diet then it sounds like you may not be eating enough (off hand I'm guessing that day worth of food you mentioned is about 1100 cals). Make sure you get a proper amount of protein (you're on the right track with the dairy and ham) and throw some fruits and veggies in as between meal snacks or as side dishes to your main meals.

As far as aerobic exercise, 3 times a week is good, 5 would be ideal if you have the time, but mix it up a bit with some jogging, hiking, etc. so you don't get so bored. Just make sure each session is around 30 mins - an hour.

That's just a very generalized take on things but please feel free to ask specific questions.

Hi, Thank you for replying to my post :)
Im not really sure how many calories I should be eating. I read some where that for my height and weight my 'maintenance' calories was around 1500 a day so I was aiming for less then that. I know eating too little can be just as destructive as eating too much but im afraid of putting back on the weight ive lost.
Thanks again for the advice :)
